Sea View Room

The cove, right across from the bed. First thing in the morning you draw the curtain; last thing at night you fall asleep to the sea.

When you draw the curtain

Beyond the window is the cove: a balcony rail forged into waves, yellow parasols lined up on the sand, and the sea.

Inside, the cove’s own tones: a blue and green wave mural behind the bed, a petrol velvet headboard, and cushions embroidered with a mermaid’s tail.

Our three rooms are the same inside; the choice is the view. Here it is the sea.

Frames from the room

The room as a whole: a blue and green wave mural behind the bed, a petrol velvet headboard, a wall lamp and a patterned armchair
The sea through the balcony door: sand beyond the rail, yellow parasols and blue loungers; inside, a wooden desk and an oval mirror
The mirrored wardrobe wall reflects the room; a television on the wall, a kettle and cups on the wooden console
The wave-forged balcony rail with the sea behind it; beside it a potted plant, an oval mirror and a mermaid cushion

THE REST OF THE COVE

The room is a beginning.

Open the door and the rest of the cove is there: the sand, the table, and a day that passes in one place. It is a few minutes on foot from the room to the beach.

A crystal chandelier in the hotel lobby, world clocks on the wall and a reception desk with a pale blue onyx counter
A long wooden table and wicker chairs under sail canopies; the sea behind
A yellow cocktail garnished with rosemary on the sand, and its long shadow
Rows of straw parasols and sunbeds; the blue water of the cove and the hills behind
A table in evening light: orange roses in a glass vase, meze trays and wooden plates behind
Open sky between a palm frond and ears of grain
